In 2013, the Uptown Theater located in the Queen Anne was at risk of being acquired and developed. An off-market purchase of the property was achieved through a philanthropic supporter to ensure the iconic theater and the renowned Seattle International Film Festival could continue its long-standing venue and place in the history of Seattle and the Lower Queen Anne neighborhood.
